Proposal
The Cottages at Houmas will consist of 17 buildings containing 49 guest suites. The facade for The Tea Room and The Museum's facades was taken from James Gallier's Stables and Caretaker's House design. Burnside Hotel, 6 story building, with 88 guest rooms. And Burnside Place ballroom.
Steamboat Overlook
The Warehouse Exhibit Hall will offer a glimpse into the history of life along the Mighty Mississippi. The Steamboat Lookout will be a life-sized replica of the Promenade Deck and Pilot House Deck of a grand Steamboat. The Plantation Walk Exhibit Hall will guide the visitor over the world famous Norman's Chart of the Lower Mississippi River. From leisure travel to the business and commerce of the plantations the Steamboat was king.
