About Michele Miller
with Nola Mahjong Collective

I’m Michele, founder of NOLA Mahjong Collective and a New Orleans-based travel mahjong instructor and host. By day, I work as a Middle School Learning Specialist at Trinity Episcopal School, where I’ve built my career around helping students learn with confidence, and that same philosophy shapes the way I teach mahjong.
As an educator, I’ve always believed learning should feel approachable, encouraging, and confidence-building. When I began learning mahjong myself, I remembered how overwhelming those first games could feel, and that experience shaped the way I now teach. At NOLA Mahjong Collective, my goal is to create structured, welcoming instruction that helps players truly understand the game while enjoying the social experience that makes mahjong so special.
With years of play behind me and a steadily growing roster of students I’ve taught along the way, I bring genuine, hands-on experience to everything I do. I’ve had the privilege of guiding players from their very first hand through advanced strategy, and I bring that same experienced, steady hand to every table I host, whether it’s an intimate lesson or a full weekend retreat.
